Does a Keller home actually need a perimeter plan?
If ants are on the counter, wasps keep rebuilding under the eaves, or a scorpion turned up in the garage, yes, and where you live explains which. Keller splits into two kinds of house: the older sections near Bear Creek under 40-year-old oaks and pecans, and the newer construction off Keller Haslet Road toward Mount Gilead on heavy clay with thin canopy.
The canopy homes send us spiders, scorpions and roaches walking in through original brick weep holes. The newer builds send us fire ants, because freshly graded soil is the first ground a colony claims. Home Defender is built for both, and fire ant treatment is part of it rather than an extra line on the bill.
WHAT KELLER HOMES PAY
The monthly number for a Keller house, by square footage
Home Defender is priced on the square footage of the house, not the lot, and Keller homes run larger than the county average, so most land in the middle and upper bands. A 2,400 square foot home near Bear Creek is usually $33 to $38 a month, a 3,800 square foot new build off Keller Haslet Road is $38 to $46, and a 5,000 square foot house sits at $46 to $54.
That buys four scheduled visits a year, any retreatment between them at no charge, and one interior treatment if something already made it inside. No contract, no startup fee, no cancellation fee. Past 6,000 square feet we quote the house individually.

WHAT IT WILL NOT FIX
Three things Home Defender does not do in Keller
It is not a mosquito program. Keller's creek corridors and tree cover make it one of the heavier mosquito towns in north Tarrant County, and a foundation barrier does nothing about insects flying in from the shade next door. That is a separate 21-day program, April through September.
It does not seal your brick. Delta Dust goes into every weep hole on every visit, which kills what crawls through, but the openings stay open. Closing them for good with copper mesh is an add-on we quote separately, and on older Keller brick it is often worth having.
The fire ant part takes patience. We broadcast bait instead of drenching mounds, and bait needs days to weeks to work through a colony. Fresh mounds after a spring rain on the clay off Keller Haslet Road are normal and covered.
STORE SPRAY OR A PLAN
Spraying it yourself versus paying $33 a month
Doing it yourself is not a bad idea, and parts of it work well. A homeowner can pack weep holes with copper mesh on a Saturday, and pulling mulch back from the slab or replacing a worn door sweep costs almost nothing.
The spray is the part that does not hold. A hardware-store concentrate breaks down in roughly a week in a Keller summer, so matching one professional application means redoing the whole foundation each weekend for three months. Add the eave sweep, the 25-foot granular ring and the fire ant bait, and the plan usually costs less than the product.

What the technician does at a Keller house on day one
The foundation band and the eaves
A liquid barrier goes around the entire slab and about three feet up the wall, then the eaves, soffits and door frames get worked with a web pole. Under the pecans near Bear Creek, that sweep is what stops spiders and wasps from rebuilding in the same corners.
Weep holes and the 25-foot ring
Every weep hole along the bottom course of brick gets Delta Dust. A granular barrier is then broadcast about 25 feet out into the turf and beds, where the crawling insects that end up indoors actually live.
Fire ant bait where it matters
On the newer Keller lots with graded clay, bait goes across the whole yard on the first visit. You do not need to be home; we need gate access, and you get a text when the technician is on the way.
