Pest Control in Argyle, TX

Acreage, horse property and the Harvest side of town. Chiggers, ticks and fire ants come with the open ground.

ARGYLE, RIGHT NOW

What Is Biting in Argyle This Month

Argyle is the acreage end of our map. Bigger lots, more tree cover, more fence line backing onto pasture and creek bottom, and a growing block of master-planned homes on the Harvest side. That mix means two very different pest problems on the same street: bite pests coming in off the open ground, and fire ants in the disturbed soil of the newer builds.

Pasture Edges and Creek Bottom

Chiggers and ticks do not live in a mown lawn. They live in the taller grass and brush at the property line and move in wherever the mower stops. On an Argyle acre the practical fix is a treated buffer strip at that boundary rather than blanket-treating the whole property, and we will tell you honestly where the useful line sits.

Barns, Outbuildings and Rodents

Acreage properties come with structures that are not sealed like a house: barns, shops, tack rooms and detached garages. Rodents nest in them and then work their way toward the house. This is the town where our rodent work gets asked for most, and it is an exclusion job before it is a trapping job.

EVERY PROGRAM WE RUN HERE

Pest Services in Argyle

Eight visits April through September. Tree cover and standing water on the bigger lots keep pressure up late.

Year-round, four visits a year. Perimeter and eaves, 25 feet out, fire ants included, Delta Dust in the weep holes.

Everything in Home Defender, plus treatment of the entire yard. Fire ants included, no contract.

Heaviest in our service area. Anywhere the lawn meets pasture or brush.

Broadcast bait across the whole yard, and it comes with both year-round plans.

Chinch bugs and grubs, plus armyworms moving in off adjacent pasture.

The most-requested service out here. Barns and outbuildings first, then the house.

THE FIRST VISIT

What We Look At First in Argyle

The Property Line

We walk the boundary before anything else. On an acre-plus lot the fence line and the brush behind it is where the chiggers, ticks and most of the mosquito pressure actually originate, and it decides where the treated buffer goes.

Outbuildings and Their Gaps

Barns, shops and detached garages get inspected the same way the house does. Rodents use them as a staging area, and sealing the outbuilding is often what finally stops activity at the house.

Where the Mounds Actually Are

Fire ants on acreage are rarely just the mounds by the patio. We broadcast bait rather than spot-treat, because on a big lot the colonies you have not walked past yet are the ones that refill the yard.

ARGYLE QUESTIONS

What Argyle Homeowners Ask Us

Do you treat acreage, or just the yard around the house?

We treat the residential envelope: the house, the yard you actually use, and a treated buffer at the boundary. We do not blanket-spray pasture, because it costs a fortune and does not hold. If you have several acres of genuine pasture, we will tell you that honestly rather than underquote it.

Why are chiggers so much worse out here?

Because there is more edge. Chiggers live in taller grass and leaf litter, and an Argyle lot usually has a lot more of that within walking distance of the back door than a quarter-acre subdivision lot does.

We have horses. Is the treatment a problem?

Tell us where the animals are before the first visit and we will map those areas as no-spray zones. Everything we apply is labeled for residential use and applied at label rate, but we would rather plan around livestock than explain afterward.

My new Harvest-side lawn has brown patches. Bug or heat?

Water it correctly first, then test. If patches along the driveway and sidewalk do not recover after a week of proper watering, that is the chinch bug signature, and more water only raises the bill.

Do you do rodent work in barns and shops?

Yes. That is a big part of what we do in Argyle. We inspect the outbuildings and the house together, seal the entry points they are actually using, then trap and come back to check the work.
