Where fleas and ticks come from on an Azle property
Mostly from the edges. Azle is a mix of established neighborhoods, shoreline lots and acreage toward the Parker County line, and on all three the habitat is the strip where the mowing stops or the ground stays wet: shoreline vegetation, brush along a pasture fence, leaf litter under old trees. Immature fleas dry out and die in open sun, so the middle of a Bermuda lawn holds almost none of them.
Ticks are the bigger worry out here. Lone star and American dog ticks hold on grass stems at the boundary of a mowed area, front legs out, waiting for a dog or an ankle to brush past, and an Azle lot that meets pasture or lake scrub has a long stretch of exactly that. The program covers the entire lawn and a band around the house every 21 days from April through September, and it is the outdoor half of a two-part job. Your veterinarian's prevention on the animals is the other part; skip it and the dog keeps re-seeding the house.

What a visit costs on a lake lot versus acreage
Between $49.95 and $129.95 a visit, depending entirely on how much ground there is. A lot in one of the established Azle neighborhoods at 7,001 to 12,000 square feet is $59.95 each visit, while a half-acre shoreline place at 17,001 to 22,000 is $79.95. Acreage on the edges of 76020 steps up the table ten dollars at a time, and past 47,000 square feet, roughly an acre, we look at the property and give you a number rather than force it into a band.
That number is the whole price: nothing to start, nothing to stop, no contract. If fleas or ticks are back before the next scheduled date we return and treat again at no cost, because the work carries a warranty between visits. A Parker County Azle address is priced off the same table as the Tarrant side.

WHAT IT WILL NOT FIX
The honest limits of a yard treatment around Eagle Mountain Lake
Fleas breeding inside an Azle house are past the reach of anything we spray outdoors. Once a dog has shed enough eggs into the carpet and its bed, that indoor population runs on its own clock, and killing the outdoor supply only stops it growing. The vacuum, a hot wash and a product from the vet are what empty the house.
We also cannot treat the lake, the pasture next door or the brush past your fence. A treated strip inside your boundary cuts what climbs across it, but a dog that spends the afternoon nosing through lake scrub will arrive home with passengers now and then.
And there is no single-visit version. A flea goes from egg to biting adult in three to four weeks of Texas heat, so one application clears the adults that are out and leaves the next generation about to emerge. That is why the visits repeat every 21 days and why we turn down requests to just come once.
SPOT-ON VS THE YARD
Is a monthly drop-on from the vet enough by itself in Azle?
For a house dog on a small, sunny in-town lot, often yes, and we would rather tell you that than take the sale. The drop-on kills adult fleas after they reach the animal, and if the yard is not producing many adults there is nothing for us to add.
On a shoreline or acreage lot the arithmetic flips. Damp shoreline vegetation and a long brush boundary turn out new adults faster than any product clears them from the coat, so the owner sees fleas and the medicine gets blamed. It has not stopped working; the supply outside outruns it. Ticks tilt this further, because they live in the ground we treat, not on the animal the drop-on protects.

How the first treatment goes on an Azle lot
The boundary walk
On a lot that touches water, pasture or brush, the edge is the first thing we look at and the last thing we leave. We note how far the mowing reaches and where the ground stays soft, because that band is where the ticks are holding.
Lawn, then the building line
The full lawn gets covered, with the most product going to shaded and damp strips, then a band around the foundation so nothing walks a clean route along the slab to the back door. In summer heat the surface is dry inside a couple of hours, and pets can go back out once it is.
What is on the animals
We ask what the dogs and cats are on and when the last dose went in. If the answer is nothing, we tell you straight that the yard treatment will disappoint on its own.
