Why lot size, not house size, decides the flea problem in Colleyville

WHAT WE CANNOT DO HERE
Where a Colleyville yard treatment stops
It stops at your fence, and on a creek lot that matters. The corridor along Big Bear Creek and Little Bear Creek is not ours to treat, so a treated back boundary lowers what crosses into your yard without touching the source. A dog that ranges along the creek will still bring ticks home, and someone needs to run a hand over it when it does.
It stops at the front door too. A flea problem that has moved into the rugs and the dog's bed is now self-sustaining, and the yard is no longer what is feeding it. Treating outside keeps the house from being restocked; the vacuum, hot laundry and the vet's product are what clear what is already in there.
And it stops at flowering plants. Colleyville landscaping is often extensive, and we do not treat blooms because of pollinators, so on a heavily planted lot a real share of the bed area is left alone. Usually yes, because the common ground is not where your dog sleeps. An HOA contract typically covers greenbelt edges, entries and shared lawns, and that work does help lower what walks in from the boundary.
