SAGINAW'S OLDER CORE
Mature trees, damp ground and a flea problem that returns each May
Central Saginaw near Knowles Drive has trees past forty years old, and the shade they throw keeps the soil along fences and under shrubs damp well into the afternoon. That damp, shaded band is where a flea spends most of its life, as an egg, a larva and then a pupa in a cocoon, before it ever jumps onto a dog.
Roughly 95 percent of a yard's flea population is in those immature stages at any given moment. A pet product only ever meets the last five percent, which is the reason Saginaw homeowners who rely on the vet alone find the problem back three weeks after it seemed gone.
We treat the whole lawn and the building perimeter every 21 days from April to September. The newer, sunnier streets on the south and west edges toward Lake Worth carry lighter pressure and can often start a little later in spring.
SAGINAW PRICES
Why Saginaw sits at the bottom of the price table
Lot size sets the price and Saginaw lots are compact. A yard of 7,000 square feet or less is $49.95 a visit, which covers a large share of the older core in 76179, and the 7,001 to 12,000 band at $59.95 takes in most of the rest of town. Only the occasional oversized lot on the edges goes higher.
Nothing is locked in: no contract, no cancellation fee, no startup charge. If fleas reappear before the next scheduled date, that retreatment is part of the price, not an extra invoice.

WHAT WE CANNOT PROMISE
The places a yard treatment cannot reach
A Saginaw home with fleas in the carpet has an indoor breeding site that no outdoor application touches. We can stop the yard from resupplying the house, but the eggs already in the rug hatch on their own schedule. Vacuum daily for two weeks, wash the pet bedding hot, and let the vet's product handle the adults.
The program is seasonal for a reason: April through September is when the outdoor cycle runs fast. It is not built to be a year-round crawling-pest plan for ants, spiders and scorpions coming through original Saginaw brick. That is Home Defender, and it is priced separately.
Ticks the dog collects at a park or in a drainage easement are beyond us too. We knock down the ones waiting at ankle height in your own grass edges, and we tell you to check the dog after any trip through tall grass.
21 DAYS VERSUS QUARTERLY
Why a quarterly pest visit does not control fleas in Saginaw
Plenty of general pest plans list fleas as covered on a quarterly schedule. In summer a flea goes from egg to biting adult in three to four weeks, so a visit every three months leaves two or three full generations to mature untouched between treatments. The product is fine; the calendar is wrong for this insect.
The Mosquito, Flea & Tick program visits every 21 days for exactly that reason. It costs more than a quarterly plan per visit because it comes more often, and it is not the right buy for a Saginaw household with no pets and no bites. If fleas are the actual complaint, though, the frequency is the product.
FIRST TIME OUT
A first flea and tick visit on an older Saginaw lot

Reading the yard
On a shaded Saginaw lot we go straight to the fence line under the pecans, the mulch beds against the brick and the ground beneath any deck or shed. Leaf litter that has sat since fall is the first thing we flag.

Treating everything that grows
The turf gets a full application, then the perimeter of the house gets its own band. Animals stay inside until the surface dries, which on a warm day takes about two hours.

Setting expectations honestly
Expect to see fleas for a few days after the first visit as pupae already in cocoons finish emerging. The second visit three weeks later is the one that usually turns the corner, and we say that up front rather than let you think the first one failed.
