Why Benbrook gets more chiggers than anywhere else on our map
Of every town we treat, only Aledo produces more chigger calls than Benbrook, and the reason is tree cover. What a Benbrook chigger treatment cannot do on its own
It cannot get through the leaf litter. On a wooded Benbrook lot the litter under the trees can be several inches deep, and the larvae live at the soil beneath it where an application never lands. Clearing that layer before we treat is the single biggest factor in whether the visit works, and we will tell you to do it rather than pretend it does not matter.
It cannot cross onto lake land or into the draw behind your fence. Public land around Benbrook Lake and the wooded drainages between neighborhoods stay as they are, and they keep producing chiggers all summer. Treating your side of the boundary hard lowers what reaches the yard, but on a lot backing the lake some pressure is permanent.
