Why two Willow Park neighbors get different answers
Because half of Willow Park is established acreage and half is subdivision laid over recently graded ground. Where a lawn runs into pasture there is tall grass, thatch and shade turning out chigger larvae all summer. Where new houses back onto other new houses the habitat barely exists yet, and the pest bill goes to fire ants and chinch bugs in the builder turf instead.
You can sort your own lot by the bites. A chigger is a mite larva that climbs a leg and feeds where clothing binds, so the welts form a line at the sock top and the waistband rather than landing anywhere on bare skin. They surface three to six hours after the walk, which is how people end up blaming the wrong yard.

Reading the price table for a Willow Park house
Find the square footage of the house and read across, because that is what both year-round plans are priced on. Chiggers come with the yard portion of Complete Home & Lawn Defense, which starts at $40 a month for anything under 1,500 square feet, runs $40 to $51.50 from 1,500 to 3,000, and reaches $51.50 to $62 from 3,000 to 4,500. The bigger acreage houses in Willow Park mostly sit in that last row or above it.
Home Defender is the lighter option at $30 to $54 a month and treats out to 25 feet from the walls, with fire ants included exactly as on the bigger plan. For a subdivision lot where the bites happen on the patio that is often plenty; for an acreage lot where they happen at the fence it does not reach. WHERE IT UNDERDELIVERS
Three things this will not do for a Willow Park yard
It will not stop larvae being produced on ground that is not yours. A hay field or unmanaged pasture over the fence stays a source from May through August, and treatment on your side removes what has already crossed rather than what is still coming. That is nonetheless most of the problem, because most of the biting happens in the grass you walk through daily.
It will not work through a leaf bed. Product sprayed onto litter sits on the surface while larvae shelter beneath it, so anywhere leaves have banked along a fence row or under trees wants raking before the visit instead of after. Nobody enjoys hearing that, and it is still true.
It also makes little sense on a brand-new Willow Park lot ringed by other new lots. There is no tall grass, no litter and no shade holding a population yet, so the money goes further against the fire ants coming out of the graded soil, which both year-round plans already cover.
EDGE WORK OR A PROGRAM
Handling the boundary yourself versus buying the plan
Start with the mower, because it is free and it works on the mechanism. Chigger larvae need height to climb and shade to survive the day, so a boundary strip cut short and left to dry in the sun stops holding them. Widening that mown strip by a few more feet does more than any bottle sold at the feed store.
What the plan buys is coverage of what is already in the yard, applied heaviest along the edges and the shaded ground, plus a three-foot band at each door so larvae are not tracked inside. Returns between the scheduled visits belong to the plan rather than the invoice. On the acreage side of Willow Park the two together are the realistic answer, and on the newer streets the mower alone usually is.
