TWO KINDS OF GROUND
One town, two different fire ant problems
Willow Park sits along I-20 with established acreage on one side of a street and freshly built subdivisions on the other, and fire ants do well on both. On the acreage the supply arrives from outside: unmowed pasture at the fence line that nobody treats, releasing new queens into your lawn every season. In the subdivisions the supply is the lot itself, because graded soil has no established ant community left to resist them.
The upshot is one treatment with two sets of expectations. An acreage owner should count on steady reinvasion at the boundary and plan for repeat baiting; a new-build owner should count on a heavy few years that quiet down as the soil recovers. Neither situation gets solved by working through mounds one by one.
WHAT THE PLAN COSTS
House square footage, not lot size, sets the figure
That surprises people on acreage. Fire ant treatment is included at no charge in both year-round plans, and the plans price off the square footage of the house, so a big lot does not raise the number. Newer builds in Willow Park are often in the 3,000 to 4,500 range, which is $38 to $46 a month on Home Defender or $51.50 to $62 on Complete Home & Lawn Defense.
Smaller or older houses drop to $33 to $38 a month between 1,500 and 3,000 square feet, and the largest go to $46 to $54, with anything past 6,000 square feet quoted on its own merits. Whatever the size, the figure comes first, and there is no contract, no startup fee and no cancellation fee sitting behind it.

Three reasons to keep your expectations in order
Broadcast bait is not a barrier. Nothing we put down stops a mated queen flying in from the field next door and starting a colony in your turf, so a yard here is managed rather than sealed. Repeat visits and the free retreatments in between are what that management consists of.
Bait is also useless to ants that are not out foraging. Deep winter and the harshest stretch of summer both shut colonies down, so applications are timed for the milder months when ants are actively collecting. That is a limit of the biology rather than of our calendar.
And it is slow enough to test your patience. Two to three weeks from spreading to dead colonies is normal, and the mounds stay visibly busy through much of it. Anyone selling same-day results is selling a surface treatment that leaves the queen alive underneath.
NEW BUILD OR ACREAGE
Should a new Willow Park build treat before there is a problem?
Yes, and it is the cheapest decision on the table. A lot graded within the last few years will produce fire ants; that is not a maybe. Bait down in early spring stops the population ever building, while waiting until the yard is unusable in July means treating far more colonies to arrive at the same place.
On established acreage the sums run the other way. The ground has settled and the soil community is intact, so mounds come in from the boundary rather than erupting across the lawn, and the useful money goes on a treated buffer at the fence line plus regular whole-lawn bait. Same product, different emphasis, identical price.
THE OPENING CALL
What the first visit looks at in Willow Park

Which kind of lot this is
The first question is how old the ground is and what lies beyond the fence, because a graded two-year-old lot and a settled acreage lot need different attention even though both get the same bait. The answer shapes where we concentrate on every later visit.

Whole-lawn broadcast
Granules go across all of the mowed area at a rate that vanishes into the turf, rather than onto the mounds you have already found. The visit is scheduled into a dry window, since bait that gets wet before the ants reach it is money left on the ground.

The structure, old brick or new
Foundation band, eaves and Delta Dust in the weep holes happen the same day, and new brick has just as many open weep holes as old brick does. Both get copper mesh packed in to seal them permanently, included in the monthly price rather than quoted as separate work.
