Where a Pelican Bay chigger treatment stops working
At the property line, the same as everywhere. Shoreline growth, a vacant lot gone to weeds and a neighbor who does not mow all sit outside what we may put product on, and on a small lot you are never far from one of them. Treating your grass removes the larvae living where you walk, but it is not a wall.
It also stops at anything you keep damp and covered. A tarp over a boat, a woodpile against the fence and a shed skirted with weeds stay hospitable however well the lawn is treated, and on a small Pelican Bay lot those few square feet can be the whole source. Getting the wood onto a rack and the weeds cut back is homeowner work no application substitutes for.
The third limit is diagnosis. Out here one person is often bitten by three things, and mosquitoes off the water and ticks out of the brush both get called chiggers.
