COURSE-SIDE PRESSURE
Why fairway-adjacent lots refill the fastest
Because the rough is a reservoir. Trophy Club was laid out around its golf courses, and the unmowed margins, tree lines and strips between holes are exactly the warm, sunny, undisturbed land a fire ant colony is looking for. None of it is being baited on your behalf, so queens keep arriving over the fence into a lawn that has only just been cleared.
The irrigated turf on your side of that fence does not help. Watered ground stays workable for colonies through the hottest part of a North Texas summer, when unwatered land would push them deep and quiet. A course-side lot is therefore both attractive and continually restocked, which makes this a maintenance job rather than a one-off fix.
TROPHY CLUB NUMBERS
What the plans cost, and what arrives inside them
Fire ant bait carries no charge of its own, because it is standard on both year-round plans. Those are priced on the square footage of the house: $38 to $46 a month on Home Defender for a 3,000 to 4,500 square foot home, $46 to $54 from 4,500 to 6,000, and quoted individually above that.
Complete Home & Lawn Defense across the same sizes is $51.50 to $62 and $62 to $73.50, and it treats the entire yard. Both plans also include Delta Dust in the weep holes and copper mesh packed in to seal them permanently, which is the sort of work that usually turns up elsewhere as a separate quote.

BEFORE YOU SIGN UP
The three honest caveats for a course-side yard
We cannot treat the course. Our work covers your property and a buffer at the boundary, and the rough on the far side of the fence belongs to somebody else, so the supply of colonies over there carries on regardless of how good your lawn looks.
We cannot speed the bait up either. A colony takes two to three weeks to carry the granules down and lose its queen, and there is no version of this that clears a mound before the weekend. If a particular date matters, book the first application well ahead of it.
And a manicured lawn is not automatically a safe one. Trophy Club yards look immaculate and still hide mounds in the mulch line, around irrigation heads and along the fence, which is precisely where children and dogs find them. Tell us which parts of the yard get used and those get checked every visit.
WHOLE YARD OR PERIMETER
Is the more expensive plan the right call out here?
For fire ants, no, and we would say so before you spend the money. Both plans put identical bait across the identical full lawn, and the mounds have no idea which one you bought.
On a course-side lot, though, the upgrade often earns its keep for other reasons. Chiggers and ticks come off the rough, chinch bugs take irrigated St. Augustine and grubs turn up in heavily watered Bermuda, and the whole-yard treatment is what handles those. Decide it on the turf rather than on the ants.
OPENING VISIT
What the first Trophy Club appointment covers

The back boundary first
We walk the line where your lawn meets the rough or the greenbelt, because that is where the pressure originates and where the treated buffer belongs. It is also where mounds get missed most often, since nobody strolls the fence line for fun.

Bait across the manicured turf
Granules go over the whole lawn with a spreader at a rate that will not be visible in the grass, and we keep them off hard surfaces and away from water features. The application waits for a dry window of about a day.

Beds, brick and weep holes
Irrigated beds planted tight against the wall get inspected, the foundation and eaves are treated, and every weep hole is dusted with Delta Dust and then sealed with copper mesh. That sealing is included rather than quoted to you afterwards.
