Flea pressure changes block by block across Fort Worth
Our shop sits on Harmon Road in 76177, in the middle of twenty years of new construction, and the flea calls from this end of Fort Worth look nothing like the calls from inside the loop. The bigger interior lots under old canopy usually reach $69.95, and the bands keep climbing in $10 steps up to $129.95 for lots approaching an acre.

THE HONEST LIMITS
When a Fort Worth homeowner should not buy this
If the fleas are in the house and the dog never goes outside, do not buy a yard program. An indoor-only cat with fleas picked them up from a visitor or a previous tenant's carpet, and the answer is vacuuming, laundering and the vet, not us fogging a lawn nothing walks on.
Treating the yard also does nothing about ticks that latch on during a walk along the Trinity or through a greenbelt. We reduce the ticks waiting in your own tall grass and fence edges; we cannot follow the dog.
The program runs April through September because that is when fleas cycle in three to four weeks. In a mild Fort Worth winter a heated garage or a warm crawl space can keep a small indoor population going, and that is outside what a lawn treatment can reach. We will point it out; we will not pretend a visit fixes it.
DIY VERSUS A PROGRAM
Hardware-store granules versus a scheduled yard treatment
Bagged flea granules from the hardware store do work on contact, and for a small, sunny Fort Worth lot with a light problem they can be enough. The catch is coverage and timing: most homeowners spread the open lawn, which is the one place fleas are not, and skip the shaded strip under the deck where the larvae are. Then they do it once.
A program puts the product where the shade is, includes the foundation band, and comes back on the 21-day cycle that matches the insect's life cycle. If you have the time to treat the right spots every three weeks yourself, DIY is a fair choice. If you have tried it and the dog is still scratching in July, the yard is outpacing the schedule.

Finding the reservoir
Fleas are almost never in the sunny middle of the lawn. We check the north side of the house, beneath decks and sheds, the base of the fence and any mulch bed that stays wet, then treat those first and hardest.

After the shaded strips, the rest of the turf and a band around the foundation get covered so nothing can walk a clean route to the door. In original-brick older homes we also look at where animals bed down against the house.
Asking about the animals
We want to know what the pets are on and whether the bedding has been washed hot. If there is no vet product in the picture, we tell you the yard treatment alone will disappoint you before you spend on a second visit.
