What perimeter pest control means for a Fort Worth house
It means the treatment happens outside, where the pests come from, instead of inside, where you happen to notice them. Fort Worth's outside varies a lot by neighborhood: the Alliance corridor and the builds north of Loop 820 are twenty years old or less on disturbed clay, while Arlington Heights, Ridglea and the streets around TCU have 60 and 70-year-old trees and brick that has never been sealed.
We run the whole city out of the shop at 13181 Harmon Road, Building C, and the two kinds of house get the same plan with a different emphasis. New north Fort Worth is fire ant country. Old Fort Worth inside the loop is roaches, spiders and scorpions using original weep holes as a front door.
PRICED ON THE HOUSE
How much Home Defender costs in Fort Worth
Between $30 and $54 a month, and which end you land on depends on the square footage of your house, because that sets how much foundation, eave line and weep-hole run there is to treat. A 1,400 square foot brick ranch in Ridglea is $30. A 2,600 square foot house in Park Glen or Summerfields is $33 to $38. A 3,500 square foot Presidio build is $38 to $46.
The upgrade, Complete Home & Lawn Defense, treats the entire yard instead of the ring around the house and runs $40 to $73.50 a month on the same size bands. Both are month to month with no startup fee, and retreatments between the four scheduled visits cost nothing.

THE HONEST LIMITS
Where a perimeter plan falls short in Fort Worth
The barrier is aimed at crawling and clinging pests: ants, fire ants, spiders, wasps, roaches, crickets, silverfish, earwigs, pillbugs, millipedes, centipedes and scorpions. Mosquitoes fly over it, so the shaded older neighborhoods need the separate 21-day program. Termites need a licensed termite operator, and we will refer you.
A 1958 brick house with open weep holes keeps admitting scorpions until the holes are physically closed. Dusting them on every visit is included and helps a great deal, but copper-mesh sealing is an add-on with its own price.
Rats and mice are not covered either. Rodent control is $25 a month added to a year-round plan, and it starts with exclusion, not spraying.
OUTSIDE VERSUS INSIDE
Why we treat the yard side of the wall, not the kitchen side
Almost every roach or spider you find indoors nested outdoors first. An interior-only service kills what already got in and leaves the source alone, which is why those programs need constant callbacks. Building the barrier at the foundation, the eaves and the 25-foot ring means the population never reaches the door.
The one exception is a problem already established inside, which is why one interior treatment is included if you need it. Most Fort Worth customers never ask for it, because once the outside is handled the inside goes quiet.

The first Home Defender visit, step by step
Read the house before treating it
The technician walks the slab looking for what touches the brick, where sprinklers keep it wet, which door sweeps are worn and whether the weep holes are open. On an inside-the-loop home that walk usually explains the scorpions.
Liquid band, eave sweep, dust
The barrier goes around the full foundation and three feet up, the web pole clears eaves, soffits and door frames, and every weep hole gets Delta Dust. This is the part a hose-end bottle cannot reproduce.
Granular ring and fire ant bait
A granular barrier is spread about 25 feet out into the lawn and beds. On the Alliance-corridor builds, fire ant bait goes across the yard the same day.
