Flea & Tick Control in Haslet, TX

New Haslet lawns have little shade, so fleas concentrate in a few predictable spots. We treat the whole lot and hit those hardest.

NEW HOUSES, OLD PROBLEM

Can a three-year-old Haslet yard really have fleas?

Yes, and it surprises people. Haslet is almost entirely new construction, and the assumption is that fresh sod on graded clay is too clean for fleas. The open lawn mostly is: builder-laid Bermuda and St. Augustine in full sun gets too hot and dry for larvae to survive. Fleas in Haslet live in the exceptions.

Those exceptions are the shaded strip on the north side of the house, the soil under a new deck, the mulch beds the irrigation keeps damp, and the fence line where a neighbor's dog and yours meet through the pickets. A dog that naps under the patio cover in July is lying on the nursery.

The program treats the entire lawn and a band around the foundation every 21 days through the season. It does not treat the pet, and the pet is half of it; without the vet's prevention we are emptying a bucket while it is still being filled.

HASLET PRICING BY LOT

What a visit costs on a typical new-build lot

Most new Haslet subdivisions plat lots between 7,001 and 12,000 square feet, which is $59.95 a visit. The larger homesites and the lots backing undeveloped land often reach the 12,001 to 17,000 band at $69.95, and the older acreage on the edges of 76052 runs higher, up to $129.95 a visit or an individual quote past 47,000 square feet.

You commit to nothing beyond the next visit. There is no contract and no cancellation fee, and the between-visit warranty means a flare-up before the scheduled date gets retreated at no charge.

What flea and tick treatment does not solve in Haslet

Ticks from the undeveloped land behind a Haslet fence are a boundary problem, not a lawn problem. We treat your side of the fence hard, but the pasture or brush behind it belongs to someone else, and ticks keep climbing the grass there. A dog that goes through a gap in the fence brings them home.

If your complaint is fire ants or chinch bugs in the builder turf, this is the wrong program. Both of those are handled on the year-round plans, and fire ant treatment is included there. We would rather point you to the right plan than sell you a seasonal one for the wrong pest.

A flea problem that has moved into the house needs the house treated too. We do include one interior treatment if it is needed, but the lasting fix indoors is vacuuming, hot laundry and the vet's product, and we will say that rather than let you expect the lawn visit to do it.

THIS PROGRAM VS YEAR-ROUND

Which plan a new Haslet homeowner actually needs

Two different problems, two different products. Fire ants in graded soil and chinch bugs in young St. Augustine are the standing Haslet complaints, and they are covered by Home Defender or Complete Home & Lawn Defense, which run all year and are priced by house size. Neither of those plans is built around fleas.

The Mosquito, Flea & Tick program is seasonal, priced by lot size and visits every 21 days because the flea cycle is that short. Most Haslet households with a dog and a shaded patio end up wanting both, but if you have no pets and no bites, the year-round plan alone is the honest recommendation.

The first treatment on a new-construction lot

Locating the few shaded spots

On a new Haslet lot the flea habitat is small and specific: under the deck, the north wall, damp mulch and the fence line. We find it in a few minutes and put the most product there.

Full lawn and foundation band

The sunny turf still gets covered so nothing survives in the odd damp patch, and the perimeter band stops fleas and ticks tracking along the slab to the door. Dry time in summer is roughly two hours before pets go back out.

Checking the back fence

If the lot backs undeveloped land we walk that edge, note how tall the grass is on your side and tell you where to mow shorter. Cutting that strip is the free part of tick control and it matters more than any product.

HASLET QUESTIONS

Flea & Tick Control Questions From Haslet

My new Haslet addition mails as Fort Worth. Do you still come?

Yes. Some of the newer additions in 76052 carry Fort Worth mailing addresses, and we service them exactly as we do the rest of Haslet. The house location decides it, not the envelope.

Why do I have fleas when the lawn is brand new?

Because fleas live in shade and damp soil, not in open sod. A new Haslet yard has a few of those spots, under the patio and along the north wall especially, and a dog that rests there brings the fleas indoors. Treating those spots on a 21-day cycle is what clears it.

Do I need the vet's flea product if the yard is treated?

You do. We take care of the eggs, larvae and pupae outside, and the vet's prevention kills adults that still reach the animal. One without the other is why the problem keeps coming back for people.

How soon can you get to a Haslet address?

Most first appointments happen within a week. The team is large enough that spots are held open for new signups on purpose, so a new customer is not waiting for a route to loop back around.

Are ticks a concern on a new Haslet lot?

Mostly on lots that back onto undeveloped land, where lone star and American dog ticks climb the tall grass to wait. Interior lots with mowed neighbors on all sides see far fewer. Check kids and dogs after any time in the tall stuff either way.
