Most pest control companies do not publish prices because jobs genuinely vary by property, because they want a phone conversation before you see a number, and because a published price can be undercut. The first reason is legitimate. The other two are about them rather than you.
The legitimate reason
Treatable area really does vary enormously. A two-acre Aledo property with outbuildings is a different job from a quarter-acre Saginaw lot, and a single number would be wrong for one of them. That is a fair argument for publishing ranges rather than for publishing nothing.
The sales reason
A quote-only model means every enquiry becomes a conversation, and conversations convert better than web pages. That is good for the company and it costs you time, and it means you cannot compare options at eleven at night when you are actually thinking about it.
The competitive reason
A published price can be undercut by someone who leaves the yard out of the scope. That is a real risk and the answer is to publish what is included alongside the price, not to hide both.
What we do instead
Ranges for every service, on one page, with the factors that move them stated plainly, plus an instant estimator that does the same math we do on the phone. You will still get a firm number after an inspection, because that is the only honest way to price a specific property. You just do not have to talk to anyone to find out roughly what you are dealing with.
