Look up the license

Every legitimate structural pest operator in Texas holds a TDA license with a TPCL number. Ask for it, then search the TDA public registry. Ours is TPCL #0822926. A company that hesitates to give you the number is telling you something useful.

Ask what is actually included

Plenty of cheap quotes are cheap because they exclude the yard entirely. For a mosquito, chigger or flea problem, a foundation-only treatment is not the same product at a lower price, it is a different product that will not solve your problem.

Ask about the guarantee in plain words

Not whether they have one. Ask what specifically triggers a free return visit, how fast they come, and whether there is any charge. A guarantee that requires a form, a photo and a supervisor call is designed not to be used.

Red flags

• Pressure to sign a long contract with a cancellation fee
• A quote given over the phone with no questions about lot size
• Refusal to put the price in writing before the first visit
• Prices advertised as starting from a number that turns out to apply to nobody
• No license number offered when asked

Green flags
